Since our Generous Life series last October we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of those who pledged and have donated to the All In Fund. Pastor Mark outlines the latest information below and how this is making a difference already in people’s lives.
I want to thank you so much for being part of All In this year. Our generosity is needed more than ever in our church, our city and in our mission overseas. During our study of ‘The Generous Life’ we were reminded of the explosion of generosity that happened in the life of money-grabbing treacherous Zacchaeus when Jesus came into his home and into his life.
Since we launched our All In – Generous Life vision in October 2021 we have truly seen an eruption of openhanded generosity. Our aim was to invest £100,000 over the next 12 months into our gospel initiatives. In the three months October to December together we have given:
- Church: £10,641.75
- Community: £12,294.53
- Mission: £20,020.50
Yes, that is an incredible £42,956.78!
Here is just one example of the difference your generosity is making.
In the lead up to Christmas, we partnered with MK-ACT a local organisation assisting victims of domestic abuse. Tragically they have seen a 35% increase in calls since the start of the pandemic. We received this thank you from their Chief Executive, Sue Burke.
‘I just wanted to say the biggest thank you for your kindness and generosity this Christmas. Thank you for taking the time to collect the fantastic donations of cleaning packs for the women and children in our care. Your donation has really helped the families who are suffering from the effects of domestic abuse and lifted their spirits during this festive season.’
And this thank you from one of their clients who received a Christmas present:
‘I have just got my gifts, thank you so much. I can’t remember the last time I got a Christmas present, let alone this much. I don’t think I have ever had a present as an adult – thank you so much!’
To give a one-off gift or set up a regular amount visit our website and when prompted choose the relevant All In fund: Church, Community or Mission.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. – Luke 6:36
As I read these words of Jesus I am reminded of the simple illustration shared by Pastor Billy when he compared the measure of a teaspoon with that of a bucket. As we step into what is likely to be another year of uncertainty due to COVID19 let us resolve to live every day as another opportunity to be ‘bucket sized’ generous!
