As church staff, we have the incredible privilege of spreading the message of hope and love of Jesus to those around us. One of the most powerful ways we can do this is by sharing the stories of the people in our church whose lives have been changed by the grace of God.

The Bible tells us that our testimonies are a powerful tool for bringing others to faith and uplifting those who already believe. In 1 Peter 3:15, we’re encouraged to always be ready to give a defence of the hope that we have within us. What better way to do that than by sharing our stories of transformation and the impact that Jesus has had on our lives?

But it’s not just about sharing our own stories. It’s about actively seeking out and sharing the stories of others in our church as well. As church staff, we have a front-row seat to the amazing ways God works in the lives of those around us. Whether it’s a story of salvation, a testimony of provision in a time of need, or a simple act of kindness that made a big impact, these stories have the power to inspire, encourage, and build faith in those who hear them.

So, how do we create a culture of celebration and life change in our church? It’s all about making it a priority. We can set aside time during our services to hear from members of the congregation. And we foster community by encouraging people to share their stories in life groups and on our teams. By sharing stories, we can help build faith, create a sense of community, and inspire others to see the gospel’s transformative power at work in their own lives.

Just imagine the impact that hearing real, tangible stories of life change can have on those in our church. It can be life-changing!

Websites like “I Am Second,” which are dedicated to sharing the testimonies of people from all walks of life, go to show the impact that sharing our stories can have on those around us.

So, let’s be proactive in seeking out and sharing the stories of those in our church whose lives have been forever changed by the love of Jesus. These stories have the power to inspire, encourage, and build faith in those who hear them. So let’s make it a priority to celebrate the gospel’s transformative power and share the amazing ways that God works in the lives of those around us.

As an author, speaker, and pastor Max Lucado says, “Stories have a way of planting themselves in the memory, water them with the Word, and they’ll bloom into life-changing experiences.” Let us be faithful in watering these stories with the Word of God and sharing them with those around us.
