We are at war! Over the centuries, believers in Christ have come to recognise the enemies of the soul, sabotaging our peace and identity in Jesus.

Paul described it,

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” – Ephesians 12:6

These enemies are known as the ‘world’, the ‘flesh, and the ‘devil’.

These enemies employ the strategies of ‘deceptive ideas’ (the devil) that play to ‘disordered desires’ (the flesh) that are then normalised in a ‘sinful society’ (the world). The Christian life is not only a struggle against these enemies in the spiritual realm but an actual war against these treacherous foes that seek our destruction.

Over the coming weeks, we will gain the practical tools to help us recognise these enemies, resist the lies they try to make us believe, experience the peace that God intends us to have and bring our identity in line with God’s will for our life – regardless of what circumstances may come our way.

Even Paul wrote to the church in Rome.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
