Thank you for being a part of ‘MK CAN’ – a major whole Milton Keynes effort to smash the current world record for the longest line of cans of food!

Did you know, the previous official world record for the longest continuous line of cans of food was set in Canada in 2014 with a line of 45,000 cans (3.8km)?

On October 16th, MK Food Bank, along with many business and community supporters, smashed this record with a total of 102,447 cans!

How was Milton Keynes Christian Centre involved?

Our Church, our Conferencing and Coffee Shop facilities, our Tiny Steps Day Nursery, our Discovery Kids team and our For Milton Keynes team all signed up for a section of the line. This meant that we had 125 metres to fill which equates to 1750 cans!

How you got involved

Bring two cans

We asked if each person who calls Milton Keynes Christian Centre their home could bring in at least two cans to fill our section of the line. Any more would go towards helping fill any gaps to make sure Milton Keynes gets the World Record!
You responded and brought your cans in to fill the boxes in the Foyer. We received over 2100 canned goods of fruit, vegetables, tomatoes, soup, meat, baked beans, other pulses, rice pudding or custard.

Volunteers on the day

On the day we had many volunteers to help man the line to ensure the cans were in place for the adjudication and talk to people. We gave out sweets and wristbands to many of those who were there to demonstrate that we are for Milton Keynes.
