We are proud to celebrate one of our own, Maria, who has been providing a warm, cooked breakfast for the community every week before she goes to work.

Maria is a recipient of the church’s ‘Be Rich Grassroots Fund’ and has been given £500 to support her community breakfast project. With the funds, Maria plans to buy food, hire rooms for her project, and purchase equipment to make the breakfast experience even more enjoyable for the beneficiaries.

Compassion in Action: Maria’s Community Breakfast Project

Maria’s community breakfast project is an inspiration and an expression of compassion, reflecting her commitment to the city of Milton Keynes. Our Community Coordinator, Arlene Peters, spent time with Maria to learn more about what inspired her to start this project and the impact it has on those who come in for breakfast:
What inspired Maria to start this project?
Maria has a heart for helping others and a passion for cooking. She noticed a need in her community for a warm breakfast and saw an opportunity to bring people together and help those in need. “I believe in the power of food to bring people together and to create a sense of community. I want to make sure everyone has a warm and filling breakfast before they start their day,” Maria said.
How does this service impact those who come in for breakfast?
The community breakfast project has a significant impact on those who come in for breakfast. It provides a warm and nutritious meal for those who might not have had anything to eat, and it also creates a space for people to connect and build relationships. “I’ve seen firsthand how this project has brought people together and made a difference in their lives. It’s a small act of kindness, but it goes a long way,” Maria shared.
How can we help Maria?
Maria’s community breakfast project is always in need of volunteers who can help with serving food, setting up tables, and cleaning up after breakfast. If you’re interested in volunteering, please reach out to Maria or to the church office. “I couldn’t do this without the help of volunteers. I am grateful for everyone who has stepped up and helped me make this project a success,” Maria said.

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” – Matthew 25:40

Maria’s selfless act of providing a warm breakfast for those in need is a reflection of her love for God and her commitment to serving others. Her project is a reminder that small acts of kindness can have a big impact on those around us, and that we can all play a role in making a difference in our community.
We are proud to celebrate her and all she does for the community. If you would like to support her project, please consider volunteering your time or making a donation. Let’s continue to lift up and support those who are making a difference in our community.

The Power of Prayer

Prayer is a powerful tool for supporting and encouraging those who are making a difference in our community, like Maria. We invite you to join us in prayer for her community breakfast project, asking God to bless and sustain her efforts. Here are some prayer points you can use:
  • Pray for Maria and the volunteers who help with the community breakfast project, that they may be filled with energy and strength to continue their work.
  • Pray for the beneficiaries of the breakfast project, that they may find comfort, encouragement, and hope through this act of kindness.
  • Pray for the community of Milton Keynes, that they may continue to come together and support each other in practical ways.
  • Pray for the church, that we may continue to find ways to serve and make a difference in our community.
  • Pray for wisdom and guidance as Maria plans for the future of the community breakfast project, that she may use the resources God has given her to bless others in the best way possible.
