We’re making an urgent appeal for jars and pouches of baby food for struggling families in Milton Keynes. If you’re able to help out with donations, please bring them to services on Sunday.

This week, we were made aware of the desperate need of many parents in our city, forced to go without food themselves to make sure their babies can be fed. Fola Komolafe, Community Director, attended a Food Bank collection this week and shared her experience with us:

I saw parents queueing in the pouring rain to get jars and packs of baby food to feed their young babies. It was heartbreaking. The Food Bank team had to turn away many of them as there was not enough baby food to supply everyone who came. We cannot let this happen again.

To respond to this urgent need, we’re collecting jars and pouches of baby food this Sunday, 8th August. Please bring donations of jars and pouches of baby food to services this Sunday to support struggling parents unable to feed their babies.

The Food Bank is serving families in need throughout the summer.

This initiative is part of our ForMK vision to see the needs of the community being met. For more information about the Milton Keynes Food Bank, visit their website or Facebook page. The Food Bank are always looking for volunteers. If you want to volunteer, please register your interest.
