Mental health is that it’s something we can all look after – It’s not just for a select few. Here’s 3 quick tips for looking after your mental health:

  1. Diet – You may have heard the phrase “You are what you eat” and actually there’s some truth to this! There’s a big link between what we eat and how we feel which is why it’s so important to have a healthy and balanced diet. This benefits our bodies and our minds!
  2. Getting Outside – This is great for many reasons. Not only does simply being outside and looking at nature give us a well-needed boost but going for a walk can be great exercise as well as giving ourselves space to relax and de-stress.
  3. Sharing What’s Bothering You – We were built for connection which is why cutting ourselves off from that will only make things harder for ourselves. This is why it’s so important that we take regular time to connect with our friends. It’s also good to be open and share how you’re feeling with people you trust. Whether that’s friends, youth leaders, or parents, these are all people you can talk to. It’s amazing how much lighter you feel when you share something that’s been weighing you down.
