Bringing Hope and Encouragement Through Storytelling

As church staff, we are responsible for spreading the message of hope and love of Jesus to those around us. One of the most powerful ways we can do this is by sharing the stories of the people in our church whose lives have been changed by God. We must proactively seek out and share these stories to inspire, encourage, and build faith in those who hear them.

Inspiring Others Through Our Stories

The Bible tells us that our testimonies are a powerful tool for bringing others to faith and uplifting those who already believe. In 1 Peter 3:15, we’re always encouraged to be ready to give a defence of the hope that we have within us. We must actively seek out these moments of life change so that we can share them with others and help them see the gospel’s transformative power at work in their own lives.

The Moments that Matter: A Guide for Collecting Life Change Stories

With this in mind, we have compiled a list of 20 moments of life change that we should be looking out for to gather stories about how God has been at work in people’s lives. These moments include things like salvation decisions, baptisms, healing, and financial provision, to name a few. We’ve also included examples of how to ask those in our teams about their experience so that we can encourage them to share their story with others. By doing so, we can help create a culture of celebration and life change in our church and help those around us see the gospel’s transformative power at work in their own lives.
