The Top Up Shop is a service run by MK Food Bank and is designed for anyone who lives in Milton Keynes and is in financial hardship. They have a variety of store cupboard items and cooking ingredients available to buy.

  • Individuals who live alone may buy a maximum of 10 items for £2. Couples and families can buy a maximum of 20 items for £4.
  • If you are struggling to pay for essential costs like food, rent or electricity and gas, why not come along for a shop?

About the Mobile Top Up Shop:

  • Your first shop is a trial – just turn up. We will ask you for your name and address but there is no obligation to register.
  • If you would like to come back after your first visit, you will need to register. You can do this by calling the Helpline: 0300 303 4933 (Monday – Friday 9am – 3pm). The Helpline operatives will ask you some questions about your household and your circumstances. If you would prefer to do this face-to-face, please let them know.
  • Once you’re registered, you’ll need to bring proof of address to the shop (driving licence, utility bill, benefits letter etc.)
  • MK Food Bank will be rolling out the mobile shop to more locations across Milton Keynes. Once you have registered you can visit a different location if it is more convenient. You are entitled to a maximum of one visit per week.
  • You do not have to attend every week – come along when you need to.
  • Visiting the shop won’t count towards Food Bank limits.

The Top Up Shop shop is open at Milton Keynes Christian Centre every Friday from 10:00 to 11:30 am.  Our Foyer is open from 9:00am with free tea or coffee for you while you wait.
