Upside Down – Blessed are the meek

About This Talk

So often the world’s approach to a difficult situation is to fight back. It is a dog-eat-dog world where the weak will be trampled on. The Kingdom Culture approach is counter-cultural, it’s Upside Down, it’s not the kingdom of the world, but Jesus’ kingdom is a better way. In the “Sermon on the Mount”, Jesus sets out a different approach. He makes it clear that his followers should be meek. But what does it mean to be meek? Find out in this message.

Points to Ponder

Commit your way to God

Trust in Him

Be still and wait patiently for God

About The Series

Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them. – Matthew 5:1-2

Upside Down: Kingdom Culture

The values of our culture and ways of the world don’t seem to be working, are we happy and content? Sometimes it feels that we’re more stressed, less peaceful, caught in a hurry, and struggling with all kinds of pulls on us. Does this way, the way of our culture lead to a blessed life?

Jesus, flips it upside down.

In the “Sermon on the Mount” Jesus explained that the pursuit of happiness is not found in accumulating wealth, alleviating all stress, only doing things we enjoy or completing your bucket list.

Jesus called his followers to a new way, a different way, to His kingdom, a Kingdom which bucked the trend of the day.

This Kingdom culture is counter-cultural, it’s upside down, it’s not the kingdom of the world, the day or our day, but Jesus’ kingdom is a better way!
