Gather – We Gather Around Jesus
About This Talk
Communion is often associated with church services. But the early church shared "communion" whenever they met together in their homes. As we gather in our circles we can take time to gather around Jesus and remember what the original concept of Communion means for you today in this message.
Points to Ponder
Remember Jesus’ sufferings
Remember his death on the cross
Remember why he did it
About The Series
Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
We need one another and we need to gather together as the Church. Our Gather series explores the importance of what we do when we gather together. Each week, come and unpack the importance and uniqueness of ‘gathered church’. We’ll explore communion, worship, what it means to be ‘one body’, the presence of God and many more of the elements you cannot replicate alone or online.
We believe something unique happens when the people of God meet together in the presence of God.
“Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:22-25
